Except for compilation or anthology albums, the Pop Golden Awards commemorate the most exceptional and influential K-pop studio album published in the past 12 months annually with the Golden K-Pop Album Award.
The album must have become well-known both domestically in Korea and abroad for its outstanding musical, performance, and artistic presentation, therefore qualifying for nomination and award. The chosen albums are the height of K-pop artistic brilliance.
Fan vote along with assessments from the panel of K-pop professionals at the Pop Golden Awards defines the winner. Each album is evaluated by the judges for performance, songwriting, production, and commercial viability. Fan voting helps to determine general listener preferences.
The Golden K-Pop Album Award honors the most whole body of work from the genre that found worldwide appeal. It pays great respect to amazing K-pop talent and cohesiveness presented on albums. The award marks the place of the winning album in K-pop history for having the most general influence by means of its music, images, and cultural resonance.
